Brenda E. Levis, President
Citing a void in the New York Tri-State market for reasonably priced, high quality, destination services providers, Brenda was inspired to start up her own company. Prior to this she served as the Global Relocation Manager for Lehman Brothers in New York City, where she managed the firm’s domestic and international relocation departments as well as its corporate housing program. Brenda has twenty five years of international work/study experience, and fifteen years experience working in the expatriate services industry. Having lived in Switzerland, France, Germany and the Netherlands, she has first hand knowledge of the challenges of an international move.
Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Brenda served as an International Relocation Consultant on site at Goldman Sachs. This was preceded by tenure with an international moving & relocation company in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Brenda has been a featured speaker at numerous relocation events including the Tri-State Relocation Association, and served on the International Assignment Committee for the Employee Relocation Council. Having lived in Brooklyn and Westchester County, NY, she now makes her home in Manhattan.
Kathrin Marx, Director of Accounts and Business Development
Originally from Dietkirchen, Germany, Kathrin took her sense of adventure and passion for different cultures to the skies, travelling the world as a flight attendant for Lufthansa Airlines. She went on to graduate from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich with a Masters degree in Hospitality Management. Kathryn has also had the amazing opportunity to live and work in both Venezuela and Ecuador.
In 2002, she relocated to New York City and decided to pursue a career in NYC real estate.
After 8 years of guiding and advising her clients on all the ins and outs of the housing market, Kathrin joined the team at NYC Navigator. We are excited to benefit from her tremendous area knowledge and expertise. Further, she particularly understands the challenges and needs of our clients as a result of her own first-hand experience of moving to the Tri-State area from abroad. Currently residing in Jersey City with her husband and two sons…and not to be forgotten, her newest family member, Ruby, a Goldendoodle. When not navigating, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends at her second
home in Columbia County, NY.
Nicole Zeh, Client Services & Digital Marketing Manager
Born and raised in Germany, Nicole has travelled to and experienced a number of countries from early on in her life. France, Spain, Great Britain, Ireland, Austria and the Czech Republic are just a a few, however her family made sure to explore all of Europe.
After obtaining her degree as a Foreign Correspondent Clerk for English, she went on to study English and Social Psychology at Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany. Her studies and love for travelling led her to a 3-months internship in Cape Town, South Africa. Falling for the beauty and warmth of the country, she ended up staying for more than three years assisting international students with internships, home search and every-day-life in the Mother City. Concurrently, Nicole was heavily involved in building and updating the company website which led to a dynamic and challenging Digital Marketing position with a German company upon her return home.
After moving to NYC in 2013, Nicole worked for a successful Digital Marketing Agency on Madison Avenue deepening her understanding of all things digital. Joyce van Houdt, Sales & Client Services Specialist
Born and raised in the Netherlands Joyce obtained a bachelor’s degree in International Communication Management at the Hogeschool Inholland in Rotterdam. Before relocating to New York City she worked at various pharmaceutical companies and healthcare related businesses in the Rotterdam and Amsterdam area.
Joyce now resides in New York City since 2013 and lived in different parts of Manhattan before moving to Long Island City, Queens. After continuing her pharma career in NYC she decided to use her own ‘moving abroad’ and international experience at NYC Navigator to help novice New Yorkers settle in. As she experienced first-hand all the challenges and excitement associated with moving to New York we are delighted to have her on our team.
While not working Joyce is active in running and playing tennis. She is very passionate about photography and shares her travel and city moments via social media. She is also involved in volunteer projects in Manhattan.
Kaycee de Voogd, Client Services Coordinator
Born in New Jersey, then moving to Europe at a young age, Kaycee (who has dual citizenship) has experienced a lot in her early years. Living in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium while her father played professional basketball, Kaycee had the opportunity to experience several cultures and learn multiple languages. Besides English, fluent in Dutch and Spanish, Kaycee and her family returned to America where Kaycee earned a Division 1 basketball scholarship to St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ. Prior to entering SPU, Kaycee represented the Netherlands as a member of the U18 women’s basketball team traveling through multiple countries in Europe.
Kaycee used the lessons of hard work and motivation learned on the basketball court to excel in her educational pursuit. Obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Trade with a minor in Marketing was just the beginning. This rising intern, is just months away from her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and Marketing.
Kaycee brings IT savvy, multi-cultural understanding, customer service excellence and first-hand knowledge of relocation abroad and States-side experience to NYC customers. Kaycee’s personal familiarity with both New York and New Jersey make her a vital asset to NYC Navigator.
Elodie Di Palo Burrone , Client Services Coordinator
Elodie was raised in Paris, born from an Italian mother and a French father. She grew up experiencing both cultures and is fluent in French, Italian, and English. Her passion for travel and discovering new countries in conjunction with her interest in sociology and psychology has led her to visit a vast variety of destinations all over the world.
She graduated from school in France with majors in Literature, Language and Foreign Civilization. She relocated to New York City (a childhood dream) to pursue her fervor for acting, and studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. Her experiences having lived abroad, in acting and in diachronic education, have opened her mind to new perspectives, which allow her to understand and relate to others easily. Having lived in New York since 2011 she has become very fond of the city and has been able to explore it extensively. Her knowledge of different cultures, travel experience, and energetic willingness to explore, provide present and future clients with a strong resource for understanding and connecting to the city.
Louise, Client Services Specialist
A native of Perth, Western Australia, Louise has traveled throughout Australasia, Africa, Europe, Great Britain, Southeast Asia and the United States. Louise has spent much of her career in the architectural design and specification sales segment of the hospitality markets in Sydney, London and New York. As a relocation specialist for NYC Navigator, Louise brings an international perspective for our clients as she has lived and traveled on multiple continents. Furthermore, as a graduate of interior design in addition to her background in architecture and construction, she offers clients a keen understanding of real estate and ideal environments.
In 2007, Louise decided to settle in the United States and she currently resides in Greenwich, Connecticut with her husband and two sons. She enjoys hiking, skiing, boating, and any activity that includes travel and fun.
Petra Hurkmans, Client Services Specialist
Petra grew up in Germany and relocated with her Dutch husband to the United States in 1994. Prior to that she was working in the clearing, settlement and custody department of a private bank in Cologne and moved to Frankfurt to work for Deutsche Boerse AG in the customer relationship management.
Petra lives in Manhattan and is raising two teenage boys in the private school system. Trying to balance motherhood and professional life, Petra volunteers at her son’s schools and started to teach German at the German-American School and at Berlitz Language Inc. Petra has an active lifestyle in Manhattan and Long Island with all her international friends. She enjoys traveling, yoga and working out
at the gym. Petra is fluent in German and English and intermediate in Dutch.
Marcia Siegel, Educational Services Specialist
Marcia grew up in the borough of Queens in New York City. When she graduated college she started her career as an elementary school teacher. She completed her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education at Hunter College and went on to teach in the New York City public school system.
After she married and had her two children, Marcia worked as a teacher in the parenting center at Central Synagogue. She also became a parent educator and taught and developed seminars and workshops for parents of infants and toddlers at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in NYC, as well as other venues in the city. Marcia then became certified by the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services in the study of infant, children and family development.
Since 2004, Marcia has worked in admissions as an educational consultant. She assists NYC Navigator’s assignees with finding the perfect schools for their families.Marcia has lived in the city for over 40 years and has brought up her two children in Manhattan. She truly loves the Big Apple, and is a die hard New Yorker!
